Plan Green Conference: A Big Success

Wednesday February, 18 2009- The first annual Plan Green Conference

was a time to remember. One hundred and fifty people came out to learn, discuss, and improve their ways to be more green for the future, and with everyone's efforts during those exciting nine hours, it is without a doubt that everyone walked away with more ideas on how to be more green. The opening speaker Janet M. Cooperman and the closing speaker Leslie Lukacs, brought the beginning and end of the conference with high energy, keeping the torch lit for many more Plan Green Conferences to come.

The Plan Green Conference was established this year to further pursue the University of California Davis's goal of being 75% zero waste by the year 2012 and 100% zero waste by the year 2020. Campus Events and Visitor Services as well as many other organization on campus played a major role in the planning, managing, and coordinating this momentous event and plan to continue to do so for years to come. This first annual event proved to be a big success and with our eye on the prize for 100% zero waste, there are many more ideas and actions to take in the future to be more green!
